Emergency Meeting: Turkey Threatens to Invade Rojava

Dear friends,

We would like to invite you to an emergency meeting this Thursday, November 11, at 7:00 PM EDT, in response to the current threat of yet another Turkish invasion of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (Rojava). In recent weeks, Turkey's President Erdogan has repeatedly threatened to attack several areas in Northern Syria. Most recently, Turkey and Turkish-backed Syrian jihadi groups have ramped up their continuous attacks, shelling the territory under control of the Autonomous Administration. There are also reports that Turkey has been massing troops on Rojava’s border and sending reinforcements to the areas in Northern Syria occupied by its proxies. Turkey has been reportedly negotiating with Russia to receive permission for an invasion, while the US has so far failed to condemn Turkey’s threats.

(Please note that this emergency meeting will take place instead of our bi-weekly organizing call that had been previously scheduled on the same day for 8 PM EDT.)
