Why Rojava Matters

Today in North-East Syria, against all odds, an inspiring movement led by Kurdish women is building and defending a society rooted in direct-democracy, women’s liberation, cooperation and ecology. The people of Rojava are proving everyday that another world is indeed possible, offering hope and inspiration in a world plagued by violence and oppression.

ECR is dedicated to raising awareness about the Rojava revolution and bringing people together to support it. Through popular education and grassroots advocacy, we are working to build a bridge of solidarity between communities in North-East Syria and the United States.

ROJAVA IS UNDER ATTACK

Right now Rojava is in danger. After facing years of war and occupation from the forces of ISIS and Turkey, the threat of a major escalation is on the table yet again. Recently, Turkey launched another devastating series of attacks, bombing critical infrastructure, killing civilians, and disrupting vital services. Turkish President Erdoğan is now looking eagerly to the incoming Trump administration to approve an all out invasion.
