Announcing #RojavaMustSurvive: A New Global Campaign
We are pleased to announce the launching of our new global campaign - Rojava Must Survive: Vaccines, Relief and Recognition. In partnership with American Kurdish Association, Sara Free Women Collective, Cooperation Mesopotamia, Solidarity Economy Association, Kurdish Democratic People’s Assembly of Britain, Toronto Kurdish Community Center, Democratic Kurdish Federation of Canada and a growing list of allies, we’re launching an international initiative calling on the Biden Administration and governments around the world to support communities in North and East Syria.
The Rojava revolution has inspired the world with its radical experiment in community democracy and women’s liberation. While most are familiar with the historic Kurdish-led resistance against ISIS, few are aware of the existential crisis threatening the region today as a result of COVID-19, mass displacement, Turkish occupation, and severe shortages of water and electricity. In light of these threats, we’re calling on world governments to take the following actions in support of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (Rojava):
Immediately provide COVID-19 vaccines and other emergency medical aid.
Contribute to a stabilization fund supporting IDP camps and long-term infrastructure.
Pressure Turkey to withdraw its forces and resume the flow of water.
Recognize the AANES as a politically autonomous region within a federated Syria
CLICK HERE to join our launch event June 26 at 2pm EDT and learn how you can get involved in this growing campaign! We will be joined by guest speakers Foza Yusuf and Elif Sarican, to discuss the conditions on the ground, why Rojava matters and why we must take action.
